Heritage Harvest Days
September 13 & 14, 2008
Running for 29 years, Heritage Harvest Days continues to be a
popular, family friendly event and an important fund raising activity
for the nature center. HHD is a weekend of heritage related activities
including craft demonstrations, music, food, kids' games, craftsmen
and artisans, and abudant good fun. Nearly 400 hundred people
help put on this event. If you are interested in volunteering,
especially to help set-up or tear-down, let us know. Anyone who
would like to demonstrate a old-time craft, set up a booth with
artwork, or show old machinery should contact the nature center. For more information visit this page: Heritage Harvest Days flyer.
Christmas for the Birds
Saturday, October 18 and Sunday, October 19, 9:00 A.M. to
5:00 P.M.
This year's "birdseed weekend" will again feature a
number of activities related to watching, feeding, and enjoying
the birds. The Rookery Bookstore will have an excellent variety
of birdseed and bird feeders, as well as a great selection of
nature related gifts including books, videos, tapes, CD's, puppets,
and more. There will also be a bake sale put on by the Stingers.
Additional information will be sent to members in October.
Holiday Auction
Planning has already begun for our 17th annual Christmas Party
and Holiday Auction. This year's auction will be held on Saturday,
December 6 at 6:30 P.M., and all Seven Ponds members are
invited. Start thinking about a special dish for the food table,
or gift items for the silent and voice auctions. Auction items
might include artwork, antiques, holiday items, services, or gift
certificates. Use your individual talents and resources to provide
a unique item for the auction. This is a very important fundraising
event for the nature center, and we need your help. Make a contribution
and then join us for a very nice party which helps support environmental
education activities at Seven Ponds!
Winter Fest
Saturday, January 24, 2009, 10:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m.
Join us for some good old fashioned winter fun including: ice

crafts, Indian winter games, cross country skiing, or ice skating.
When you finally take a break, roast a hot dog over an open
fire and savor a mug of hot chocolate.
