Seven Ponds Clubs


Astronomy Club
The Seven Ponds Astronomy Club holds monthly meetings except when special field trips are planned. Visitors of all ages and levels of experience are always welcome. Meetings include a viewing session whenever weather permits. Link to club website: http://www.geocities.com/sevenpondsac/

Seven Ponds Birding Club
The Birding Club meets on the third Tuesday of each month at 7:00 P.M., Spetember thorugh June. Club members share information about birds, recent sightings, and birdwatching, and are treated to presentations by Seven Ponds naturalists and others. Club members arrange field trips at the meetings. See Schedule of Events page for specific program information.

Bee Keeper's Club of Seven Ponds
The Beekeepers Club usually holds its meetings on the fourth Tuesday of the month here at 7:30 P.M.; no meeting in December.

Seven Ponds Butterfly Garden
Volunteers meet every second Wednesday through October from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. to weed, water, and tend to the butterfly garden. If you have any questions please call Ron Schank at (810) 688-4659.

Eastern Michigan Collectors
The major event for the Eastern Michigan Collecors (EMC) is Heritage Harvest Days where they exhibit tractors, small engines, and other equipment. EMC normally meets on the last Friday of the month at 7:00 P.M. at the nature center.

Friends of Herbs
All sessions start at 10:00 A.M. and meet the second and fourth Wednesdays of the month, except in December. The usual schedule is to work in the herb garden, eat lunch, and then enjoy a short program or prepare for herb sales. During January and February the meetings will be informational programs about a selected herb. The group also plays a big part in Heritage Harvest Days and the Holiday Auction. They assembled a cook book which we sell in the center's bookstore. Seven Ponds Nature Center Hiking Club
The Seven Ponds Nature Center Hiking Club is open to members and non-members alike, who enjoy spending time in the outdoors. We plan to enjoy discovering the changes each season brings, with a mix of short nature walks and longer hikes. Regular outings will be planned each season. Stingers
The Women's Auxilary of Seven Ponds Nature Center, known as the Stingers, is a hard working group whose members share an interest in the nature center and work to raise money for our activities. The group meets at the center on the first Monday of month at Noon, April through October. With their Rummage Sale, Bake Sales, Heritage Harvest Days booth,, and annual raffle, the group raises several thoursand dollars annually. The funds have helped us keep the five buildings here in great shape.

Friends of Seven Ponds The Friends of Seven Ponds meets on the first Monday of the month at 7:00 p.m. at the nature center. The group plans fundraising events to support the center's educational activities. Current projects include a summer picnic and a booth at Heritage Harvest Days. New members are welcome.


Audubon Clubs and Supporting Organizations


Seven Ponds Nature Center is associated with six Audubon groups from southeastern Michigan, including the Detroit Audubon Society and five chapters of the Michigan Audubon Society. Seven Ponds is also an affiliate of the Michigan Audubon Society.
